Installing TraScript
This guide will help you with installing TraScript on your computer. Before you start with installing, please make sure that any applications which might interrupt the installation are turned off.
- Go to http://trascript.trabot.net/TraScriptSetup.exe
- You will see a screen which looks like the image above. Click on 'Save file'
- After the download is finished, open your downloads list via Tools -> Downloads, right click on the file and choose 'Open', or alternatively open the setup file from your downloads folder.
- If you are using Windows Vista, click 'Allow' to confirm the start of the program.
- The installer will now start. Follow the instructions on the screens below.
- Read the Terms (its not that much) and click on 'I agree', then click 'Next'
- Choose the location where you want to install TraScript (or just leave the default location) and click on Next.
- You are now finished with installing TraScript. Click on 'Exit' to start the script.
Configuring TraScript
If you do not understand the built-in wizard, this guide might help you starting your connection
When you start the script for the first time, it will start with the connection wizard. It is recommended that you finish this wizard, or your script won't be able to connect!
Select the language you want to use the script in and click on 'Ok'.
On this screen you can choose your Nickname, alternative nickname and realname.
Your Nickname is the most important, it is the name you will use while chatting.
The Alternative nickname will be used if the Nickname you chose is already in use when you connect.
Your realname is the name that other people will see when they whois you. You do not have to write your real name here if you don't want to.
You can write something you want or leave it empty, in which case your realname will be 'TraScript User'.
On the next screen you can choose whether you want to use the TraScript Operator. This is a tool to make certain functions easier available.
After this you have finished the setup Wizard and you are ready to chat.
It is however recommended that you open the Configuration screen to set the other options of TraScript.
